In our ongoing feature of interviewing the bands we host forums for here at GD, the second fastest reply came from Jörgen Sandström, vocalist/lyricist/crony of my own band, The Project Hate MCMXCIX.
Some people visiting this site might not have checked you out just yet. Give them a reason as for why they should.
Jörgen: Simple. You have never heard anything like this before. You might not like it or you will love it. It is diverse.
And what exactly are you fuckers playing when it comes to style?
Jörgen: Metal!
List your fave-song with yer band so people know what to listen to for a first impression. And while yer at it, list the one you don’t want people to hear.
Jörgen: Hmm.. that is so hard, to pick out one song. Have a listen to the new album, “Armageddon March Eternal”, any track and you’ll understand the hell that we are doing. A bad song… The bad songs never made it to the albums.
Can you please make a rundown of yer album/albums? Personal thoughts about it/them. Go into as much detail as you want to.
Jörgen: Ok. First one, “Cybersonic Superchrist”. I like it, recorded with Dan Swanö in Örebro. Second one, “When we are done your flesh will be ours”. I like it better than the first, recorded with Mieszko at Soundlab studios, Örebro. Third one, “Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate”. I like it even better than the second one, also recorded with Mieszko at Soundlab studios, Örebro. Latest one, “Armageddon March Eternal”. I’m close to loving it, recorded with Dan Swanö in Örebro. You should definately check out all of them but if I have to pick one, then go for the latest, it is fucking mayhem!!
Are
you guys having any side-projects/other bands going? Bands worth of
mentioning that is. Plug away and give us the reasons as for why they
should even care about them if they don’t really care about yer
main-band in the first place.
Jörgen: I am in a few other bands, but I DON’T
consider any of them as side-projects. They are all bands that I care
too much about to be labelled as “projects”. Vicious Art is one of them,
and the band that I put most of my time into actually. It is extreme
metal, we have a new EP out called “Weed The Wild”. Download it from
Vicious Art’s website and you see why you should be punished for not
knowing about us earlier. KRUX is another band that has myself, Peter
from Entombed, Leif from Candlemass, Mats Leven from Therion (+ 100
other bands) and Fredrik (who nowadays plays in Arch Enemy). And of
course our own DR DOOM on keyboards. The band is more doom metal. We
released our debut album in 2003, called “KRUX”, and we just recorded
our second one, called “II”. Mazza, TPH guitar-hero, also
plays in 2 Ton Predator. Lord K is a member of God Among Insects and
Michael, our bassplayer, is playing for a band called Evergrey.
What makes you guys any different to the shitloads of crap-bands out there? Do you really have anything new to offer?
Jörgen: We might sound like alot of bands, but no one sounds like us. Somebody else said that, I just ripped it off!!
List some bands that inspired you guys to start playing in the first place.
Jörgen: In the first place? AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Motörhead, Venom…
If yer band was a NHL-team, which one would it be?
Jörgen: Our line-up reminds me of Minnesota Moose, at best..
Who would be the most retarded member of the band? Give us a few examples as for why.
Jörgen: Probably Jonna (vocals as well). She is a girl and she likes to hang with us. Do I need to say more?
Describe
the music of yer fucken band with ONE word. All this is to make people
understand a little more what you are about, you know.
Jörgen: Different.
Why are you at our forums in the first place?
Jörgen: Cause Lord K runs the fucker!
Roughly, how much has/have your album/albums sold? Be honest.
Jörgen: Roughly? 666!
Do you guys believe you are bigger than you actually are?
Jörgen: Not really. We know were we stand compared to other bands and we don’t give a shit.
Have you ever seen any royalties? What was the biggest cheque for?
Jörgen: Nope. We have not recouped yet as far as I know.
